This exhibition is curated by artist William Dunlap in collaboration with Louisiana’s Civil War Museum at Confederate Memorial Hall. The exhibition is centered around the painting “Storming the Ramparts” (c. 1888) by Gilbert Gaul. Gaul is a late 19th-century artist best known for his artwork depicting military subjects, particularly those from the Civil War. Objects shown in the painting, as well as those that could have been found on the battle field will be on view.
